The world is changing rapidly and a big reflection of this can be seen in the rapidly changing expectations that the businesses have from the fresh graduates that join the corporate bandwagon every year. The colleges also are looking at making the students more job ready and employable.
According to a recent survey (February, 2018) conducted by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), United Nations Development Program, a leading human resource firm and an employability assessment firm, overall only 45.6% students are employable and job ready. This means that even less than 1 out of 2 students are having the necessary skills to counter the situations that they will face while working. This means there is a huge gap in terms of the job readiness of the students.
I, being an educationist, believe that if the educational institutes start training the students while they are in the college and make them aware of the requirements of the corporate world it will go a long way in helping students to better deal with the skills and employability gap. Keeping in mind with the requirements of the businesses, understanding the mindset of the students & the tight schedule that the colleges have to follow, I have designed a “Campus to Corporate” Program that will help students to deal with various aspects of corporate life including:
